Absolutely! You can buy as many monthly chances as you like. For example, a £10 monthly standing order gives you two entries (two numbers) in every draw, £15 gives you three, and so on.
To keep our administration simple and ensure every single player is entered fairly, we run all our standing orders on the 1st of the month. This gives our Treasurer time to verify all payments have safely cleared before the draw takes place at our committee meeting (on the third Monday of the month).
Once you have set up your standing order and sent us your confirmation message, we will register you and email you back with your unique, permanent lottery number(s). These numbers are yours for as long as your standing order remains active.
Yes. Under UK lottery law, committee members and their families are fully eligible to play and win. To ensure absolute transparency and fairness, all draws are conducted using an independent digital random number generator (WheelOfNames.com) at our monthly committee meetings, witnessed by multiple committee officers.
Exactly 50% (£2.50 of every £5 ticket) goes directly into the Village Hall charity fund to pay for upkeep, repairs, and community events. The other 50% goes straight into the prize pot. Wetheringsett Village Hall is a registered charity, and no committee members make any private profit from this lottery.
The draw takes place on the third Monday of every month during our regular committee meeting.
We draw the 2nd prize first, followed by the 1st prize “Windfall”. If your registered number is drawn, you win!
If you win, a committee member will contact you directly via phone or email within a few days of the draw to arrange payment (usually a bank transfer or cheque). We also publish the winning surnames and numbers on our website, Facebook page, and in the Monthly Parish Magazine.
You are in complete control of your payments. If you wish to stop playing, simply cancel your Standing Order directly with your bank, and let us know so we can remove your number from the next draw. Please note that payments already made cannot be refunded.
No. Because buying a lottery ticket gives you a chance of winning a prize, the government does not allow these payments to qualify for Gift Aid.
