Fun Dog Show & Lazy Car Boot Sale

A colourful poster to advertise the Fun Dog Show & Lazy Car Boot sale

Delayed because of the extraordinary heat in July, our Fun Dog Show is now happening on 5th September, sharing the stage with the Friends of Wetheringsett C of E Primary School and their Lazy Car Boot Sale!

With a special guest, certain to be a hit with the youngsters amongst us, Lightning McQueen!

Refreshments to include tea & coffee, soft drinks, bacon sandwiches and home bakes will be available too.

Pop the date on your calendar and let your friends and family know about it, especially those with appropriate four legged friends, lol.

It’s Landed!

EXCITING NEWS! The “Wetheringsett Windfall” is officially open!

We’ve jumped through the final hoops, secured our official lottery registration, and we are absolutely thrilled to launch our brand-new monthly online lottery!

The Wetheringsett Windfall is a simple, fun way to keep our historic Village Hall thriving while giving you a chance to win a lovely cash prize every single month.

Something is blowing into Wetheringsett…

The Village Hall Committee is thinking of launching the Wetheringsett Windfall—a monthly village lottery!

You pay £5 a month via Standing Order. 50% goes to a ‘Cash Windfall’ prize pot, and 50% goes to our Village Hall.

If we get 100 people, we’d be giving away £250 every month!

Before we pay the license fee, we want to know, would you be in? Please comment on this post to show your interest.

Sponsor Your Hall

Our Village Hall has been the backdrop for countless birthdays, coffee mornings, and local meetings. To keep our doors open and our facilities top-notch, we’re looking for local businesses to join our new Community Partner Program.

By grabbing one of our digital advertising squares on the website, you aren’t just getting eyes on your business – you’re directly funding the upkeep of our shared space.

  • Reach: Our site is the go-to spot for event bookings and local news.
  • Affordability: Starting at just £15 per month.
  • Impact: 100% of proceeds go toward hall maintenance and community projects.

Volunteer Opportunity – Grant Finder

Do you enjoy research, organising information, or helping good causes thrive?

Wetheringsett Village Hall is looking for a friendly volunteer to help us identify and apply for grant funding that will support improvements, community activities, and future projects.

What does the role involve?

  • Searching for grant opportunities from councils, charities, businesses and other funding bodies
  • Helping us match grants to Village Hall needs
  • Drafting or assisting with simple applications (we’ll help!)
  • Working with our Committee to secure funding for local improvements

How much time is needed?

It’s flexible! Even a small amount of time each month could make a huge difference.

Why volunteer?

  • Make a real impact on your local community
  • Use your skills—or learn new ones
  • Work alongside a supportive and friendly committee
  • Help us secure funding that keeps the Village Hall thriving

Interested?

We’d love to hear from you!

Please have a chat with any of our committee members if you are interested or you can email Stephen.

Thank you for helping support the heart of our village!

Macmillan Coffee Morning

According to Macmillan’s website, “Coffee Mornings are a great way to bring people together for a slice of something nice. You can host your event on any day that suits you!

Well, we (Hilary and Sue) are holding ours on Saturday, 11th October 2025 at the Village Hall and you are all invited! Doors will open from 9.30 am and stay open until 12 Noon. We will be serving the usual tea, coffee, cakes and bacon sandwiches!

If anyone is able to bake (or buy) some cakes or scones to contribute to the event that would be great. Please bring them to the Hall around 9 am on the day!

Please let your friends and neighbours know and hopefully you will be able to come along and spend some time with us, raising much needed funds.

Donations from thousands of Coffee Mornings, big and small, help raise vital funds to support the almost 3.5 million people in the UK living with cancer, from the moment they are diagnosed, throughout treatment and beyond.
